Captain Michael C. Corcoran, Jr. Esq. is the President of CMR Law Enforcement Testing and Review, LLC, a company devoted to law enforcement promotional exam preparation.

Captain Corcoran is a 21 year veteran of law enforcement and a Certified Eligible Law Enforcement Executive (C-ELEE) by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.

Captain Corcoran serves as the Commanding Officer of Police Operations for the West Orange (NJ) Police Department. He earned  a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School and is a graduate of the 227th Session of the F.B.I. National Academy. Furthermore, as an attorney, he serves as the agency's Police Legal Advisor and privately maintains a practice of law devoting his efforts exclusively toward police training and risk management.

Captain Corcoran is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Procedure at Kean University. He is certified as a police academy instructor by the NJ Police Training Commission and instructs use of force and other legal topics. Currently, he is on staff at the Essex County College Police Academy.

Captain Corcoran is past #1 scoring candidate, instructor, curriculum developer, author and test question writer. He has prepared students from Sergeant through to Chief in both civil service and non civil service testing jurisdictions. He has over ten years teaching experience encompassing all areas of police promotional exam preparation including: written exams, oral exams and assessment center exercises and has taught numerous #1 scoring candidates!
